Renovation of Hindu Prarthana Samaj Temple, Toronto
I am proud to highlight my involvement in renovating the Hindu Prarthana Samaj in Toronto. This project presented a unique challenge: transforming an existing Church into a modern Hindu temple while preserving its historical significance and minimising costs. Our approach focused on retaining the original brick exterior main wall to reduce expenses and honour the building's heritage as a former church. This conservation effort was pivotal in maintaining the structural integrity and historical authenticity of the temple.
A key aspect of my role was effective project management. I demonstrated strong coordination skills by facilitating collaboration among the structural team, design professionals, and City of Toronto Inspector. This ensured seamless communication and alignment throughout the renovation process.
Through this project, I successfully integrated essential design elements of a traditional Hindu temple within a contemporary framework, showcasing my ability to navigate complex architectural challenges while respecting cultural heritage and budget constraints.
